Herry Ye is a Chinese illustrator based in Shanghai. For his series Floating Zoo, the artist explains that for him, animals are pure, loyal, sincere and very cute creatures. In his work, jewels are a whim of humanity, which wants too much wealth, unlike animal. Drawing animals adorned with jewels is better than to draw them in colors, he explains, bring a certain magic : a fairy tale for adults, which puts them in in front of their own existence and their weaknesses.
