In her exquisite watercolors, artist Elena Moroz celebrates the gentle vibrancy of flowers. Her painted daisies, peonies, and irises are vivid but mellow, as boldly toned but diaphanous as living blossoms.
Each unfurled bloom contains careful detail, including precise shading, intricate veins, and organic shapes around the edges of every petal. Yet, Moroz’s loose, aqueous strokes allow excess paint to spread in ambient blurs behind the flowers themselves, often surrounded by free splashes and splatters, to swath the realistically rendered bouquets in a delicate aura of artistry.
